Southeast Asia’s Market Potential

Strong Rebound in 2021

The region – which comprises Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Philippines, Cambodia, Myanmar, Brunei and Laos – is projected to grow 6.2% in 2021 according to the IMF, beating advanced economies which will grow 4.8%.

Stellar GDP Growth

The region’s GDP is forecast to increase from US$2.4 trillion in 2015 to US$5.2 trillion in 2025. This is largely due to the increase in its skilled workforce, abundant natural resources, favourable geographic location for trade and commerce, and ongoing efforts to create an integrated, regional economy community.

World’s 4th largest market by 2030

Southeast Asia is projected to become the world’s fourth-largest market after China, the European Union and the United States, by 2030, according to a report by research and consulting firm Frost and Sullivan.

Increased demand for digital innovation

Demand for cutting-technologies was already strong before the COVID-19 pandemic. InfoComm Southeast Asia made a strong debut in 2019, attracting 7,743 visitors from 45 countries. Now, COVID-19 has further driven up demand for digital applications and innovations in Southeast Asia.
